Job Responsibilities
- The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring excellent customer service, managing staff, maintaining quality standards, and achieving financial goals. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a customer-focused mindset.
- You must achieve the restaurant operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations for strategic plans and reviews to the management.
- Prepare and complete action plans to implement the production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards for the restaurant.
- Ensure that the restaurant’s financial objectives are achieved by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analysis variances and initiating corrective measures.
- Respond efficiently and accurately to customers’ complaints.
- Work very closely with Head Chef to control food costs by reviewing portion control and quantities of preparation by minimizing waste to ensure a continuous high quality of food preparation.
- Ensure that the Company complies with the local authorities regarding the Food and Beverages regulations served at the restaurant.
- Maximize the coffee bar profitability by ensuring portion control and monitoring accuracy of charges.
- Perform staff appraisals and provide recommendations and feedback to improve productivity, to the management.
- Estimate future needs for goods, kitchen utensils and cleaning products.
- Ensure compliance with the Licensing, Sanitation, Hygiene, Health and Safety legislation set by the local authorities.
- Manage and maintain the restaurant’s good image and suggest ways to improve it to the management.
- Prepare detailed reports on weekly, monthly and annually on the restaurant revenues and expenses.
- Promote the restaurant within Peninsular Malaysia via social media and restaurant events.
- Recommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g. social media advertisements and possible discounts and any other options).
- Train current and new employees in proper customer service practices and hospitality protocols.
- Required to implement new policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations.
- Any other adhoc matters that, might be assigned to you by the management from time to time.
Requirements
- Possess Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in restaurant or hospitality industry.
- At least 5 years in a supervisory or management role
- Experience managing front-of-house and back-of-house operations of a restaurant efficiently.
- Experience in managing a restaurant with proven track record.
